Present Truth
Present Truth is the terminology that was used by the Apostle
Peter to describe the revelation of Jesus Christ at that time.
2 Peter: 1:12 states "For this reason I will not be
negligent to remind you always of these things, though you
know and are established in the "present truth."
In this particular passage of scripture the Apostle Peter
was warning the saints of the false-teachers and erroneous
doctrine that will arise, even though they were very current
with what the Lord was speaking at that time. It is from this
premise we coin the same phrase "Present-Truth"
church. As we know, the church that was in the beginning,
in the book of Acts, had fallen away very badly during the
dark ages. Most, if not all of the five-fold offices as outlined
in Ephesians 4:11 ("And He Himself gave some to be apostles,
some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and some
teachers. For the equipping of the saints for the work of
the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.")
had disappeared from within the structure of the visible church.
It was not until in the early 1500's when a German priest
named Martin Luther, uncovered a major then "present
truth", the just shall live by faith, that we saw
a major reformation of the church started, which is still
in effect to this day. As time elapsed, we saw "present
truth" after "present truth" being established
to the body of Christ. In the 1500's it was Justification
by Faith. Before then the church had gone through tremendous
persecution and passed through the dark ages. It was
at this point the Holy Spirit moved upon Martin Luther to
stand up against the ills of his day and declare the word
of God, without compromise. In
the 1600's it was Water Baptism. Thank God for that
truth being restored to the body, as we practice it today
without any contradiction. The
1700's saw Holiness and Sanctification restored. At
that time tremendous revelation was revealed concerning our
Sanctification and ability to live holy lives.
The 1800's brought powerful teaching on
The Second Coming of Jesus. With
the 1880's came the restored truth on Divine Faith Healing.
We thank God for this truth, as it has found its place forever
in the church of Jesus Christ in the earth. We can walk
in divine health; we can believe the Lord for healing and
He has proven Himself repeatedly in this dimension, as many
saints have experienced this tremendous blessing.
At the turn of this century there was a
tremendous truth restored to the body of Christ, namely The
Holy Spirit Baptism and Speaking with Other Tongues. This
I believe was one of the most powerful moves of the Spirit
of God, as we saw major "Pentecostal" denominations
and several independent groups rising all over the earth proclaiming
a bold new Faith that changed the then face of the church.
Then came the 1940's when we saw the restoration
of Laying On of Hands and Personal Prophecy.
In the 1950's it was Praise & Worship
and Body Ministry, with Dancing. Also around that time we
saw Deliverance and Evangelism breakthrough in many areas
of the body of Christ. In
the 1960's Demonology was the major point of understanding
that was restored to the church, where we saw tremendous release
for peoples from all walks of life. The
early 1970's brought the Discipleship, Family Life and Church
Growth. In the mid to late1970's it was the Faith Message
along with Prosperity and Word Teachings.
In the early 1980's we saw powerful revelation
being released on the Kingdom of God and our Dominion in Christ.
This revealed to us our place as kings and priest unto God
and gave us the power of declaration.
Then came the restoration of Prophets
to the body of Christ in the late 1980's and early 1990's.
With this move we saw the full restoration of modern day prophets
back to the body of Christ. Beginning
in the late 1990's we began seeing the restoration of
Apostles to the body of Christ, which is still taking place today.
There is such a tremendous awareness of the government of
God in the earth. It is producing in the people of God
the boldness and the wisdom to stand strong in the earth today.
So then a "Present Truth" church
is a church that is walking in the current speaking of the
Lord. For further reading make sure and click on the
