Five Pillars of the Apostolic
Towards a Mature Church

 

Introduction

 

It has become very evident that a new day has dawned in the earth, as the Lord restores the foundational ministry of the Apostle back to His Church.  And in the next few chapters of this book I will set out to give some definition to what God is saying and doing in the earth today.  Peter encourages us by the Holy Spirit to be established in “present truth”.

Present Truth is the terminology that was used by the Apostle Peter to describe the revelation of Jesus Christ at that time.  Peter states:

“For this reason I will not be negligent to remind you always of these things, though you know and are established in the present truth.”  2 Peter 1:12 (Emphasis added)

In this passage of scripture the Apostle Peter was warning the saints, of the false-teachers and erroneous doctrine that would arise, even though they were very current with what the Lord was speaking at that time.

It is from this premise we coin the term “Present-Truth”.  During the “dark ages” (the period of time from around the 4th to the 15th century), the Church we read about in the book of Acts had fallen into a state of apostasy.  Also during that period of time, the “Five-Fold” ministry gifts as outlined in Ephesians 4:11

“And He Himself gave some to be Apostles, some Prophets, some Evangelists, and some Pastors and some Teachers.  For the equipping of the saints for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.” 

had disappeared from within the structure of the visible Church.  It was not until the early 1500’s when a German priest named Martin Luther uncovered a powerful “present truth”,  “the just shall live by faith,” that we saw the start of a major transformation of the Church which, to this day, is still in effect.  As time elapses, we are seeing “present truth” after “present truth” being restored to the body of Christ, making the word of God relevant to our time.

There is an awesome, powerful, militant church rising in the earth, as Apostles are being restored to take their place alongside the Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers to bring the Church into unity and to a place of maturity for function in the earth.  It is indeed a glorious time to be alive and be connected to the purpose of the Lord.
