Kingdom Advancing Prayer Volume One Introduction
will build [be building] My Church and the gates of hell shall not be able to prevail against It.” Matthew 16:18. (Italics and Parenthesis added) These words of Jesus still echo through the tunnels of time, and now more than ever these words are relevant and very true. We have entered into the most significant time the Church and planet have ever experienced. The Church of Jesus Christ is now arising with awesome strength and power. One of the keys to this amazing rise to greater functionality of the Church is the clear understanding of what we call Kingdom Advancing Prayer. This kind of prayer reaches into the very core of the demonic stronghold and destroys demonic kings and princes and establishes the Kingdom and Purpose of the Lord. This is the kind of prayer that Jesus engaged in, to bring to pass the will of His Father while He was upon planet earth. Prayer has always been one of the most powerful tools the Church of Jesus Christ has in establishing the purposes of the Lord. The apostle Paul, in writing to the church at Ephesus and by extension to us today, encourages us with the following words: “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.” Ephesians 6: 10-18 (Italics added).

Prayer is as vital a part of our armour, as our waist being girded with truth, or as having on our breastplate of righteousness, or our feet being shod with the gospel, or having our shield of faith active, or our helmet of salvation or the sword of the Spirit. Part of the technology that is being released into the Church as the Lord restores Apostles, is what we describe as Kingdom Advancing Prayer. This kind of prayer puts the Kingdom of God first and foremost; it is above any personal need or agenda. It is similar to the kind of prayer that Elijah prayed, as the Lord used him to turn a whole nation around, and destroy the demonic influence that threatened to thwart the Lord’s purpose. It is reflective of the prayer that Jesus prayed as He prepared to bring to completion His Father’s will and go to the cross. The Church of Jesus Christ is stronger and much more determined and equipped than she has ever been, and strong, aggressive, powerful, Spirit-Filled, Kingdom-Centred prayers are being lifted in every nation in the earth. We are seeing the emergence of Houses of Prayer all over the earth with prayer going up 24/7. Prayer is calling for the Bridegroom’s return, and for the Bride to be made ready. Prayers that are storming the heavens and binding the “strong men”, declaring and decreeing God’s Kingdom rule in every jurisdiction. This is what we call Kingdom Advancing Prayer. This kind of prayer is released from the heart of Father God into the hearts of His people, as we seek for His Glory to cover the earth as the waters cover the sea. What a Glorious Day to be alive and to be in the Will and Plan of Father God! Hallelujah! With this kind of understanding and prayer, we could very well be the generation that brings the Lord back. As I reflect on my walk and Christian life over the years, I want to thank the Lord for allowing the Holy Spirit to impress upon me the value, importance and need for prayer. I remember how He would waken me in the early hours of the day to go and pray. One of my favourite scriptures that I practiced in those years and still do is Mark 1:35, which simply says: “Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed.” I was also very impressed with what was hailed as Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem and the events that took place that day. We read the account in: “And when He had come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, "Who is this?" So the multitudes said, "This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth of Galilee." Then Jesus went into the temple of God and drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the moneychangers and the seats of those who sold doves. And He said to them, "It is written, 'My house shall be called a house of prayer,' but you have made it a 'den of thieves.'” Matthew 21: 10-13 Here we see Jesus establishing the importance of prayer in regard to the Plan and Purpose of God. He declared, "It is written, 'My house shall be called a house of prayer.” Just as it was true back then for the literal, physical temple so it is absolutely true for the “spiritual temple” which is our bodies and by extension, the Church of Jesus Christ. Prayer is absolutely vital to any kingdom advance and this cannot be overstated. This book is a selection of teachings from our years of early Morning Prayer meetings of the same name “Kingdom Advancing Prayer”. It is my prayer that the chapters within this book would be a tool that can be used in furthering the cause of God’s Kingdom in the earth, as well as providing strength and growth in your life. Be Blessed! |
