Understanding The Times

There is a reformation move of God in the earth and the Spirit of the Lord is causing every nation to experience its effects.

There is a key scripture in Zech: 4:10 as the Lord encourages us not to despise the day of small beginnings.

Conditions for a New Move of God:

The word of God declares in Matt: 24: 36-39 and Luke 17: 26-27 " as it was in the days of Noah so shall it be in the days of the end".

Noah- his name means rest, bring relief or comfort. Hebrew (NWH)

  1. When there is increase in the demonic population. Gen: 6:1
  2. When wrong marriages begin to take place between the sons of God and strange women, (this speaks of a marriage between the holy and the profane, between divine principles and earthy principles, between wisdom that comes from above and the wisdom of the earth), producing low moral standards and values. Gen: 6:2a, 2Cor: 6:14-16
  3. When the sons of God reject His order and make their own choices. Gen: 6:2b, Prov: 14:12
  4. When God's Spirit begins a process of departure. Gen: 6:3, 6-7, Eph: 4:30
  5. When giants begin to invade the land. Gen: 6:4

There are three Hebrew words used for the English word giant. Let us explore these words.

  1. Nephilim: A man of great stature. Gen: 6:4, Num: 13:33 It is also translated Giant, and comes from a root word Anak or Anakim.

Anak or Anakim: These were the giants that the spies found when they went to check out the promise land in Num: 13:33. It is very interesting to note that the stature and formidable nature of the Anakim were almost proverbial. They were taken as a standard for comparison to stress the size of such other peoples as the Emim (Deut: 2:10) and the Rephamin (Deut: 2:21), and there was a saying, "Who can stand before the sons of Anak?" (Deut: 9:2).

In the account of the Promised Land brought back by the ten faint-hearted spies, emphasis was laid on the fact that the Anakim were there (Deut: 1:28). It was even claimed that they were descendants of the Nephilim, who were of the sons of Anak, and the spies felt like grasshoppers besides them (Num: 13:33).

Also another very interesting thing to note, is that they dwelt in Hebron.

Hebron: is the Hebrew word for confederacy, alliance, merger, unity, marriage, association, connection, organization, etc.

Unity is the Promised Land for the Church of Jesus Christ and just as with the children of Israel back in those days so it is with us today. Giants are dwelling in our land and we need to drive them out.

As we look around us today we see the "giant" enterprises and corporations merging Microsoft and Apple, British Airways and American Airlines talking about another merger etc. While this is happening it would seem as though the church is at war with each other.

Hebron has always been at the centre of God's plan.

Abraham lived in its vicinity Mamre for years as a matter he purchased the field Machpelah with its cave to be a family burial-ground (Gen: 23)

Caleb received it as his inheritance. Josh: 14:13

David was anointed king over Judah 2 Sam: 2:4, and then later king over Israel 2 Sam: 5:3. These are but a few examples.

However we need to understand that two things that are very relevant to us in this end-time.

     a.  Rapa: From another Hebrew word Rephaim and translated giant or a man of great stature. In 2Sam:             21:16-22 and 1Chr: 20:4, 6, 8 all translate the same word. Goliath was of this same clan.

Please note that these giants are always seeking to defy the armies of the living God. However there will always be a Davidic company to resist them. Amos 9:11 & Acts 15:16.

Gibbor: Mighty man. It is used to refer both to giant and hero. Gen: 6:4 Josh: 1:14 1Sam: 9:1 it is rendered as mighty man. In Job 16:14 it is rendered as giant or warrior. It is rendered as hero in Gen: 10:8-9, Ps: 19:5, Ps: 33:16, Isa: 49:24-26.

Today everyone is looking for his or her hero. We the church already have our hero, His name is Jesus.

       6.  When the sons of God begin to reproduce after the order of the world, Gen: 6:4b. God will always reject the works of men's hand, He did it with Cain and He continues to do it today. It is better to obey than sacrifice.

      7.  When man's imagination is in control instead of God's Divine direction. Gen: 6:5. God will always deal with such action 2 Cor: 10:1-6.
